Four Seasons Hong Kong Introduces New “Beyond Organic” Treatments

The Spa at Four Seasons hotel Hong KongPurity, energy and balance the three words that encapsulate the philosophy of ila, a range of organic products that promote well-being and sustainability.

The Spa at Four Seasons is delighted to bring these concepts to Hong Kong by launching new treatments that embrace the holistic power of ila. All ila products are 100% natural and free from artificial chemicals, made from only the finest ingredients sourced directly from local producers who farm and harvest the raw ingredients in harmony with nature.

ila’s “beyond organic” philosophy has its base in using only organic products whilst working closely and ethically with communities such as a Berber women’s cooperative in Morocco and a women’s cooperative in India to encourage the continuation of traditional and sustainable farming and harvesting practices.

ila products use three key ingredients as their base, chosen for their purity and ethical growing conditions:

  • Damascena rose oil: Harvested from a single source in the foothills of the Himalayas, this is one of the most precious of all essential oils, said to nourish, relax and nurture the emotional and physical heart. One of the finest skin-care oils, it is ideal for dry, sensitive and mature skin.
  • Argan oil: Wild-grown and cold-pressed from the fruits of indigenous Argan trees ( argania spinosa) known as the “trees of life” in Morocco this oil is naturally rich in fatty acids, which deeply nourish the skin, and the antioxidant vitamin E, which helps protect the skin against free-radical damage caused by pollution and the sun’s radiation. The precious oil is harvested by Berber women who work together as a cooperative.
  • Himalayan salt crystals: Mined from deep in the mountains and formed 250 million years ago, these salt crystals contain the ionic forms of minerals, which can be rapidly absorbed into the body. The crystals emit beneficial negative ions when warmed.

The new spa treatments, designed to balance, inspire and heal, include the following:
- Dreamtime journey
- Chakra well-being
- Ku Nye massage
- Himalayan marma facial
- Rainforest rejuvenating facial
- Bio-energy mud wrap
- Himalayan salt scrub
- Jatamansi scrub

Ila The new treatments will be available from June 1, 2009, at the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. Treatment prices are subject to a 10% service charge. A range of ila products will also be exclusively available for purchase at the Spa Boutique.
