A concept, a brand, a new world of feeling and wellbeing

Seven Colours Spa, Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort

The Seven Colours Spa brand was conceived on the island of Mauritius, an ideal Spa destination, renowned all over the world for its multicultural way of life.

Seven Colours celebrates the art of wellbeing, turning it into a whole philosophy : a unique approach that is based on the interaction and balance of life giving energies and colours… a synthesis of ancestral therapies, stimulation of the senses, and the benefits of nature.

When we feel at peace in the lush green surroundings of a forest, or when we feel warm and happy in a decor full of sunny yellow tones, we are experiencing something that is more than merely a visual sensation.

Charged with energy, the colours are absorbed by our bodies, by our skin, and they influence our being at a deep level… our emotions and our state of mind. They stimulate our nervous system, feeding our 7 energy centres : the chakras.

Inspired by this oriental philosophy of the Chakras, the Seven Colours concept is based on the interaction and balance of the energies and colours that revitalise us. Seven Colours recognises and respects that we are all individual and unique and in line with this, we off er each client a personalised experience, across a range of treatments, our products and even extending to our Energy Cuisine. A unique approach… embodied in the motto dreamed up to encapsulate Seven Colours.

Seven Colours Spa, Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort

Our spas and wellbeing salons, our treatments, cosmetics and associated products specially created since 2004 according to the principles described above. Started in February 2008 at the Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort.

A new culinary experience inspired by the Seven Colours concept utilising essential oils and edible fl oral waters. The concept was developed in 2004 by Helene Cassan, a Frenchwoman with more than 10 years expertise in the world of beauty and wellbeing.

It was born out of her training in Oriental practices and techniques encompassing a holistic approach in which the individual is more important than the symptom and where the question of body energies underpins everything. The Seven Colours concept, which includes this philosophy, the various treatments, the range of cosmetics as well as a new approach to cooking, is based on two entities.

The Seven Colours Rituals
The “Colours Treatments”(violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red) offer a complete selection of massages and body treatments, such as the Draining wrap (YELLOW), which drains and slims the body, or the Harmony massage (INDIGO), which caresses the body with extensive massage movements. To round off the colours treatments, Seven Colours offers a completely original set of facial massages and treatments… the “Signature Treatments”, such as the ‘Seven Colours’ massage in which we use warmed semi precious stones to work on the 7 energies. Finally, Seven Colours offers some original treatments, such as massage for babies, children or pregnant women… initiations into the art of massage or the art of relaxation… or personalised and thematic treatments.

Seven Colours Cosmetics
In order to reanimate these 7 energies and colours, Seven Colours Spa & Cosmetics has created a range of cosmetics based on plants and essential oils… 100% pure and natural. The essential oils used come from Madagascar, supplied by a laboratory that has demonstrated social and environmental commitment. Furthermore, Colbert Balneoforme laboratory works primarily with distillers who work for the promotion of the good of the environment. It also provides them with financial support when possible and if needed, and then repayment is in the form of distilled Products.

Seven Colours, Energy Cuisine

A newly invented cuisine
A new concept in cooking inspired by the Seven Colours concept, Seven Colours Energy Cuisine is an original and personalised experience that stimulates the energies that drive our life force… and a cuisine that explores a whole range of cooking methods, products, colours and textures, utilising essential oils and edible floral waters. All titillating the senses.

Just like the purple chakra and the red chakra, the dishes encompass a range of possibilities… from the lightest of dishes such as mousses, through the creamiest of textures, to more robust and earthy meals simmered long and slow. A healthy and innovative cooking, carefully and compiled with great knowledge by Executive Chef at the Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, Philippe, in collaboration with Valérie Cupillard, consultant in culinary creation, specialised in the use of essential oils and organic products.

Anantara Golden Triangle Thailand bamboo raft adventure – it’s the only way to travel!

Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa, Bamboo Rafting

The bamboo raft has been an integral part of South East Asian life for millennia. Now guests at Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa, Thailand can discover the charm of this ancient craft with a new Bamboo Rafting Adventure designed to give a taste of life in the slow lane!

The all natural raft allows guests the opportunity to see exotic flora and fauna at close quarters and to savour the peace and beauty of nature’s gentle voice.

Set on the banks of the Ruak River, Anantara Golden Triangle enjoys a unique location. As the raft meanders along both banks seem identical – but in fact one side is Burma and the other is Thailand. Used as a thoroughfare for fishermen from both countries and migratory birds who know nothing of border controls, the river is alive with the timeless culture that stands at the heart of the Anantara Experience.

Guests can choose to begin their adventure at dawn when the river begins to awaken or to set off in late afternoon when the water becomes streaked with the gold from the setting sun. The 90-minute tour starts with a short drive the local village of Wang Laos where guests will board the bamboo raft, which is designed with comfortable seating and a canopy to provide protection from the sun.

Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa, Bamboo Rafting

Once on the river, two expert raftsmen will use poles to guide the vessel in perfect harmony with the gentle flow of the water. Guests will have plenty of time to relax over a glass of champagne (or to enjoy a picnic breakfast on early morning tours) as fascinating sights, serene beauty and endless photo opportunities unfold before them.

Shortly before arriving back at the hotel’s private pier, guests may come upon the residents of the Anantara Elephant Camp as they arrive down at the river for a scrub from the mahouts and their daily romp in the water.

This intimate experience can be designed as a romantic event for two or as a great trip out for a family to enjoy together. Price THB 7,768net including Champagne.

Call for information at Anantara Resort Golden Triangle, Tel: 053 784 084.

For hundreds of years throughout Thailand, people would leave a jar of water outside their house to provide refreshment and extend a welcome to the passing traveller. Anantara is taken from an ancient Sanskrit word that means ‘without end’, which symbolizes this sharing of water and heartfelt hospitality is at the core of the Anantara experience.

Anantara Resorts are currently located in the seaside town of Hua Hin and on Koh Samui, in the Gulf of Thailand, and in the Golden Triangle in the country’s north. In the world-renowned destination of the Maldives, Anantara Dhigu and Anantara Veli are a 30-minute boat ride from the capital Male. The Gratitude Attitude at The Willow Stream Spa of the Fairmont Monte Carlo

Gratitude Circle - SAS la Princesse Stéphanie de Monaco

New program offers spa goers the chance to give back

There are circles we are grateful for in all times – a circle of friends or family – that come together to simply be in each other’s company, share experiences or interests.  They keep us connected and grounded to what is really important.  Willow Stream the Spas at Fairmont launches the Gratitude Circle, an initiative that allows spa goers the chance to make an impact in their communities while doing something healthy for themselves.

“Over the past year we’ve noticed an increase in ‘circles’ spending time together in our spas,” explains Anne McCall Wilson, Vice President Spas, Fairmont Raffles Hotels International.  “We decided that we wanted to show our gratitude for their choosing to spend their time with us and the Willow Stream Gratitude Circle was born.”

The Gratitude Circle encourages local spa guests to pass on the great feeling they have when they leave the spa to their favourite local charity.  The concept is quite simple; spa guests register their unofficial group of friends at their local Willow Stream Spa. They can register their book club, golf team or neighbourhood gardening group, or just their group of girlfriends.  They then select a registered charity or not-for-profit to receive a percentage of spa sales every time they spa. Willow Stream then issues a charitable donation of 10% of their total spa bill (including treatments, retail and meals, excluding taxes and gratuities) to the charity of their choice, each quarter.

In the beginning of this 2010, the Fairmont Monte Carlo has launched the 1st Gratitude Circle under the patronage of H.S.H. Princess Stephanie of Monaco, accompanied by Mrs Christine Barca, Her personal assistant and general secretary of the Fight Aids Monaco association which will be supported by this program.

“We believe Willow Stream’s Gratitude Circle provides guests with another way to get engaged in the community,” says McCall Wilson. “And since Fairmont has a longstanding tradition of being an integral part of their communities, Willow Stream Gratitude Circles simply continue this tradition.   Our goal is to have 100 circles registered by the end of the year.   We’ll keep everyone updated through group threads on our Facebook and Twitter pages.”

To register with Willow Stream’s Gratitude Circle, guests can call their local Willow Stream spa or email willowstream.spa@fairmont.com indicating their contact information, local spa preference, and a spa experience coordinator will follow up to complete the registration process.
