Two days of planned and qualified “business meetings”. The Spameeting will accelerate the completion of 150 spa projects suiting the expertise of 50 suppliers. Valerie Vanier, Director of this highly anticipated event, presents the highlights of this unique business meeting which will be held for the first time in the sublime setting of the Sofitel Marrakech, on 3 & 4 March 2011.

Why organize an event like Spameeting?
Valerie Vanier: The advantage is obvious. The ‘speeddating’ format makes for immediate interactivity between confirmed project holders and spa suppliers. The meetings are pre‐programmed; each one will meet the other because they chose to do so. They will be able to go straight to the point. This is a procedure with immediate results. Unlike an exhibition, everyone is on an equal footing to draw attention to its strong points.

What are the projects that were selected?
Valerie Vanier: 50 decision‐makers will be there, representing more than 150 selected spa projects. We have pre‐selected these projects based on several criteria. Programmed for implementation primarily in Europe and North Africa, these spas will be constructed in a short span of time, between 6 to 18 months maximum, and are financially sound. We have a combination of institutions, large hotel chains such as Oberoi, Sofitel, Four Seasons, JW Marriott, Starwood, etc., independent hotel chains (Ulysse, Yadis …), Dayspas (The Sanctuary), and independent projects, particularly in Morocco.

Who are the suppliers selected to meet them?
Valerie Vanier: The selection committee has also chosen 50 suppliers. These are really high category professionals with wide international experience in spas. Among them are brands for spas, institutions, organic products, cosmetic treatments, equipment, clothing, interior design, software… a wide variety of high‐end providers.

Apart from business meetings, what is planned?
The interest to go to Marrakech is also a time to enjoy informal gatherings. To meet for two days, participants will have time to exchange and meet in a unique context! In addition, two business briefings will reinforce the interest of the event. The themes are: the hotel potential in Morocco and sustainable development in 2020, and supply welness & Spa in the hotel.
