From 16 August, the hotel will reopen after extensive refurbishment, introducing a new spa concept and a focus on the natural beauty of the area. The five star resort’s appeal will be broadened to families and couples, seeking a diverse experience, along and beyond the exceptional beaches.

A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Heritage Le Telfair resembles a picturesque village with its 20 plantation style villas, each of them with white painted wood and intricate fretwork. The rooms are now plusher than ever with a soft, more feminine design exemplifying Heritage Le Telfair’s understated luxury and relaxed atmosphere.

The Golf du Château golf course and clubhouse as always offer clientele a memorable golfing experience with a unique 18-hole championship course laid out over spectacular stretches along the foothills and overlooking the Indian Ocean.

After all these activities, spa lovers will be keen to check-in at the all new Seven Colours Spa “Millesime Collection”. The facilities, unique on the island, now include a large hydrotherapy pool, enhanced treatment and relaxation rooms, tailored spa experiences and signature treatments designed by the Mauritian spa brand for the hotel supplemented by a range of experiences which also extend throughout the hotel with personalized fitness programs, introductory sessions to the wellbeing facilities, a choice of ‘health’ dishes and drinks, meditative relaxation or relaxation sessions in one’s room.

Guests can now enjoy a larger number of interconnecting rooms – a welcome addition for families. Additional high tech amenities include large plasma flat screen interactive TVs, iPod docking systems and high-speed internet access in all rooms.

For younger children the Timomo Kids Club is open from 8.30am to 11.00pm and is the one of the very few kids club on the island that takes children from the age of two. While the children are kept entertained, parents will be able to take advantage of the new second 175 square metre heated outdoor swimming pool or perhaps enjoy a delicious meal for two at the revamped Gin’ja Pan Asian restaurant on the beachfront. Heritage Le Telfair has also refurbished two of its other dining outlets; the main restaurant Annabella’s with its traditional style open live kitchen now has a new buffet offering and Le Palmier bar now extends service to the beach and poolside, serving light lunches, snacks and beverages. The interactive cuisine concept has now been extended across the whole of the resort… a real feast for all the senses !

Not to forget the crown jewel of the Domaine, the Château de Bel Ombre, now restored and redecorated for the reopening. It has a unique and enchanting atmosphere inspired by the sugar plantation mansions of the the 19th century, where guests can delight in the finest Mauritian cuisine prepared with local products.

The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius

In keeping with the spirit of the Resort, the Spa at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is designed as a contemporary, natural retreat with the emphasis on the traditions of Mauritian culture. Located on the secluded, southern edge of Ile aux Chats, the over-water spa offers regionally inspired rituals and therapies that reflect the island’s multicultural heritage.

The Spa features twelve over-water treatment rooms, including eight for couples, named after the islets visible from the Resort. The stilted treatment rooms back onto mature, wild mangroves with wide sliding doors that open to immerse guests in the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature. Each couples’ treatment room has its own private steam room and semi-outdoor shower. In addition, two of the couples’ suites also have private saunas and wet areas for Vichy treatments.

Treatments on offer are holistic addressing the body, mind and spirit and aim to introduce guests to all different levels of Mauritian culture. Therapies and rituals combine the island’s strong healing traditions with treatments inspired by its African, Indian, Chinese and European roots. Many of the ingredients used come from the local environment, including vanilla, ylang ylang, volcanic basalt rock, sugar, molasses and coconut.

The Spa’s signature treatment, the Sugar Cane Therapy Massage, incorporates sugarcane sticks for a deep and relaxing massage a first for the island of Mauritius. Traditional Mauritian music heightens the sensory experience of some of the rituals with the birds in the tropical canopy above providing their own accompaniment.

In keeping with the spa’s holistic intent, yoga is offered every morning and a juice bar features endless combinations for cleansing, energising and refreshment. The adjacent Salon offers manicures, pedicures, facials and hairstyling. There is also a boutique stocked with the beauty and wellness products used in the Spa, for guests who want to continue their pampering and healing experience back home.
