The Hotel Métropole Welcomes Summer
July 16, 2009 | Category: Uncategorized | No Comment
This summer, in keeping with the Hotel Métropole’s ongoing seasonal artistic themes, Maud Lesur, the hotel’s style and artistic director, will launch Blue Mood, a vibrant celebration of the season. The theme will run from 19 June to 17 September 2009 and offer a selection of different packages for every guest, including a fabulous fishing experience for sea lovers. Inspired by two artistic sources: A poem by the French poet Paul Eluard, ‘The Earth is Blue like an Orange’ and the Matisse painting: ‘Goldfish and Sculpture’, Lesur will feature both colours from these works matching lagoon-blue with fiery coral; a duo of punchy colours which are celebrated in the French Riviera this summer.
To carry out the Blue Mood theme, Hotel Métropole will boast a huge orchid display behind the concierge desk and a variation of fish bowls in the lobby containing orange arums, turquoise pebbles and goldfish. At Joël Robuchon’s restaurant, orange tablecloths, turquoise glasses and ribbon will decorate the tables. In the bar, Head Barman Eddy Montana has created an especially eye-pleasing cocktail called Nemo, with Guimauve syrup, Grey Goose Pear vodka, fresh Ginger and Malibu.

Excursions last about three hours, and the boat can take a maximum of four guests.
